Twenty five years ago In the middle of Bessho Onsen we renovated an old Japanese houseand createdEarthworks Gallery to show our ceramic works and works of other artists. Behindthe gallery across the garden there is an old empty silk worm farm house which came to usby chance and here last year we also totally renovated it ourselves and now one year laterto open Earthworks Guest House. In this charming old hot spring town with its famous historyand beautiful shrines and temple we wish this to be a meeting place for world travelers as theyexperience the beauty of Japan

別所温泉中心街に古民家を改築してスタートしたアースワークスギャラリーも今年で24年目を迎えました。

ギャラリー裏側の中庭をはさんで100年の歳月を経たかつての養蚕農家だった古民家が空き家になっていましたが、私たちの手に渡り、ここも大がかりな改築作業を自ら始め1年後、このたびアースワークスゲストハウスをオープンいたしました。

この小さな魅力ある温泉街にいろいろな国のいろいろな方々が行き交い、出会いの場になってくれたらと思います。
